Why do homosexuals get such a hard time? What's wrong with being 'Gay'?

So watching TV for a little bit one Monday evening I saw a rebroadcast of CVM's Onstage with a clip of 'Barbee' being interviewed in which she said she did a song that did not speak about her but of another person who found love in a same sex relationship. The only thing that came to my mind at that time was bull... You know the rest.

But who cares right? She thinks its okay.

Not considering any other social media, Facebook has been teeming with homosexual right vs wrong commentary, in light of the US supreme court ruling on gay marriage. The Sunday before that Monday evening I saw where persons called TD Jakes a sell out because he spoke about the issue and sounded pro LGBT. Then the following Tuesday morning I felt like buying small fire in Cashpot, after seeing 2 females; kill me dead they were lesbians and if both weren't, one was. (experience has trained me over the years to have a special skill in pin pointing lesbians).

Why so Fussy?

So after hearing the hullabaloo about TD Jakes on FB I decided  to hear the comments straight from the horse's mouth. And I must say that I agree with what he says. I don't have time be worried about what gays are doing to try to be equals and normalize their behaviour. He didn't sell out he just didn't say gays should be burned at the stake like most of us would all want to see. I personally think if there should be a whopping of a church pastor though, Joel Osteen should get that. This man skirted around some very straight forward questions and then clumsily explained his stance.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQ4PncKMTEw

Unlike these pastors I can categorically say that I am 100% against same sex sexual unions (same sex marriages). I don't see the sense in these types of relationships. But as well thinking human beings we should be careful of what we fight against and how we fight against it. I'll just quote Newton's third law of motion,
"For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction."
You pick out your sense out of that. That is what I would add to Mr. Jakes' sermon.

Lettuce Gays Bacon and Tomatoes

Again I ask, what is wrong with being LGBT? But you guys don't have to answer, I know what's wrong with them. And no its not wrong because God said its wrong or the bible reads thou shall not be gay ( just paraphrasing). Instead homosexuality is wrong because mankind has made it wrong. We do not want it.

 LGBT

Now that is answered let's see how I assess wrong or right in phenomena, events or situations.- I weigh the pro's and the cons. Then I maximize the pro's or the cons and visualize the effects of these maximized benefits/ disadvantages to the best of my experience and practical imagination.  And finally I check the majority view on the subject.-
Therefore, homosexuality is dangerous, not only wrong. Because if everyone was gay and truly gay, civilization would end. Mankind would cease to exist after a good amount of years. As much as it is said that persons are selfish, each person generally does what is best for their survival and the survival of those they have grown to build a relationship with. Simply put, each person looks out for them self and their loved ones.

I believe children are a result of actions to extend the life of its parents' ideologies. From my perception of a social group of the human species, at its basic 'animalistic' level, procreation serves as a protection of the aging parents in the group. So it is safe to say we are born with good intentions- Protect the family. May be only the bi-sexual could escape the charge of being an enemy of the society; enemy by reducing our 'defenses'. Based on sociological evidence, Psalm 51:5, I was born in sin..., is not applicable. A matter of fact Christians pro porting this scripture as literal are definitely not aware of the levels of credence they are giving the LGBT community. For further clarity, (using mathematical substitution)

  • being a lesbian, gay, bi-sexual or transgender = SIN,
  • then born in sin and perhaps shapen in iniquity (although perhaps the iniquity part could mean what you learn as you grow older) = man is born a sinner = mankind are born to be gay (just choosing this sin out of the other sins to bring home the point)
  • Therefore, many persons agree that lesbians and gays were born that way and don't even know that they are agreeing to such a lie they fight against.
  • Then assuming gays were born that way, how can God now punish them for something he put them on this earth to do? And, how can others, like myself, question their purpose?

So I repeat, from a person is born their instinct is to protect the social group and hence 'fitting in' with the basic values and core beliefs of the society is the key duplication. Hence, be fruitful and multiply is our natural way of progressing and bettering mankind. Even how we learn at the baby stage is evidence of how we are looking towards the continuation of life. At the early stages of life we learn mainly by replication, copy cat, monkey see monkey do. So with homosexuality there will be no natural multiplication of the races.

Homosexuality is simply the destruction of the human race. It is as dangerous as cancer and devastating as that nuclear bomb in hiroshima. Certainly it won't kill us now; but over time its effects compound like the interest on my savings and investment.-The principle of compound interest affects both good and bad actions. The idea of a non-reproductive union between 2 humans is not good for the race. The less persons on the planet = less money. Hence economically homosexuality is wrong.

Selfish People

I think the ideals of gay people are selfish. And by now you must know I am not talking about happy people. May be gays and lesbians are happy but I sure know they are mean. And they don't mean well for the survival of the human race. They may be in the richer bracket of our presently modern society, but their wealth in friendship has been drastically hampered by investing in ideals that are counter to the success of the greater population. Therefore no matter how much the LGBT community grows
because we the normal people grow way faster than them, they are always lonely. All of us subconsciously know homosexuality can hamper the progress of the human race; yes homosexuality can easily be seen as a
population control tool, spread by the evil ones in power. But if those power controllers are spreading the LGBT agenda to control the world population they are definitely hurting their earning power and the number of those they have power over. Unlike them I know that real wealth is also in the #of friends you have.

Conclusion

Homosexuality awareness has been growing in the society for the last 2 decades because of many factors. But The Media has been the main driving force. I Don't believe this is a new phenomena but the hype in the media and its explosion in appearances in different TV shows has sure made it seem new. I think I can do a research on the media influence on homosexuality in the society. But for now I can say that even the blind would have seen the change in morals and norms on cable TV. A quick scan of the article, Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual Content on Television: A Quantitative Analysis Across Two Seasons, revealed the following excerpt.
Despite the overwhelming heterosexuality of mainstream media representations, portrayals of gay and lesbian individuals on television have become somewhat more common since 1997 when Ellen became the first television show to have a gay leading character. This increase can be seen in the introduction of gay characters on many shows such as Spin City, ER, Dawson's Creek, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as well as shows that focus on gay characters in leading roles such as Will and Grace and It's All Relative. In addition, cable stations have included shows such as Queer as Folk, Six Feet Under, and Oz that depict gay characters in more complex plot lines and with more explicit sexual behaviors.

The Inspiration

Go tidy the Sink

It's when I do the chore that I hate the most that some of my greatest inspirations reach me. I sincerely hate washing the dishes. But each time I go through this experience. I learn something new as well as come up with a new or better plan.

As I hear my mother say the plates should be washed its like the weight of those forks, spoons, dishes, cups and pots drop on my shoulder. However, the weight only sinks me for a short while. I just muster the courage and strength to make the work lighter and lighter with each rinse. So again every mickle mek a muckle- the Jamaican slight edge chips in. This is the same principle that can be applied to conquering any daunting task. So for those young adults who live with their parents and teenagers doing chores don't get discouraged when you see the mountain of pots and plates dangerously sharp utensils scattered along the journey. Do not ask if it will it be done but

  • when will it be done?
  • how will it be done?
  • why will it be done?

When

In this case we have when as a adverb describing your action of 'doing the dishes'. Unlike 'IF' it removes all doubt from your mother's mind and yours for even a second (unless you are a liar). Unlike 'IF', 'WHEN' tells the mind that there is a task to be completed. And a goal has been set. This when may be the time the task may be started or the completion time of the task. Whichever, it will be done.

How

This is by the 'slight edge' of course. Every mickle will finally clean and clear the kitchen sink. For every item completed the weight gets lighter and lighter. For every pot, utensil, plate and cup the work gets easier to be completed. For every scrub with the scouring pad draws you closer to the end. So now you ask me; How will it be done? My answer: get an initial plan, split the task into smaller events and establish a reward system for completing the events.

So I take the contents of the sink and organize them according to their type. Then start washing. I group all the :

  • cups
  • plates and bowls
  • pots
  • utensils
Then for example I soap and scrub the utensils first; wash them  off and take a break from standing at the sink. My break is my reward. Build momentum on starting-finishing-rewarding and then very soon you will be finished with that huge mountain of a task.

Why

When you are approaching that big problem in life I think it is very important for you to know 'Why' you are removing this problem. What is the reason you want to complete the task? The reason is that voice that keeps you motivated util completion. The reason gives purpose for seeking your satisfaction.

Your Tools

I didn't bother with what will be done because we already knew the what. But it is key to understand the nature of your problem it helps to formulate a good initial plan to start the task. knowing the nature of the problem also helps in selecting the right tools for the job. My father always says 'the right tool makes the job easier.'

I thought that buying a dish washing liquid from my own business would make 'washing the dishes' more fun but not so. I wash with the guarantee that the organic cleaner I am using is safer for the environment but I still dislike 'washing plates'. The Legacy of Clean Dish Washing Liquid really gets the job done but I could have done the same job with a Pals Dish Washing Liquid (although the quality of finish may be less).

The tool affects how and when the job is done. Therefore, my tools include:

  • Scotch Brite Scrub Sponge- scouring pad for the plates, utensils and cups
  • Legacy of Clean Scouring Pad- for pots and covers
  • 110490 - Legacy of Clean® Scrub Buds® Scouring Pads

  • Legacy of Clean Dish Washing Liquid
My favourite dish washing liquid- http://www.amway.com/Shop/Search/SearchResults.aspx?searchkeyword=dish%20washing%20liquid&includeLMS=false&pwsID=HowellKhaliel
Every time I wash I try to finish faster and faster. Using better quality products from my business does not make the job more fun, but these tools have way less of a negative effect on the environment and does the job better.

However the mindset behind the tools is very important. Even with the worst tools on the market, your 'how' and 'why' will get you to the finish line- may be not in record time.

Learning by The Sink

So the process I use to clear my dirty sink brings on touches of insanity and creativity to produce some good works. When I was an active bass-guitarist ideas for some good rhythms and even mastering new skills came from my kitchen sink (although that time I was living at a different location with a different inspiring sink). Some of my topics for blogging are found after some of those plates are cleaned. Almost all the business ideas I am yet to release were birthed by the kitchen sink. Some designs I have drawn came from the sink.

So it's by the sink again I went to question the reason the sink is so inspirational. Then it came to. Its not so much the physical space but the psychological space that spurs my 'think-tank'. It's how the process of washing activates my brain to think that causes me to come up with ideas. So I went through my process of washing, as explained earlier and allowed my thoughts to roam.

I also think its because of how I have trained myself to deal with doing things I don't want to do. I kind of clear my mind of the lameness of the activity and/ or substitute the boring thoughts of the chore with a game (most times a game I would make up). I remembered doing this for the first time around age 9 when I was asked to sweep up the front yard before going outside to ride my bicycle. So like a good son I started sweeping but sulking and mumbling. But as an even better son I decided to just do it. I started looking at cleaning as a time challenge and racing against the clock I swept like crazy. Up to this day, my 2nd favourite chore is sweeping. So by the time I started washing dishes in grade 5, around age 11, I mastered the Ninja Technique I coined as"Activity Affection Redirection".

I think how I started washing washing was also special in providing me with the environment to repeatedly formulate new ideas. Its the reason why I 'wash the dishes' that move my mind to find solutions for those around me and my self. When you can complete a task for a reason outside your self gratification it gives a special feeling of satisfaction. Happiness if you may. I started washing dishes (and doing more chores on a whole) to please my mom; help make her load lighter. And since that was a reason outside my self and considered greater than myself it gave me a healthy feeling of happiness to see her shocked the first time she came home from work and caught me red handed- clearing up the dirty sink. I thank Mr. Jarrett, my Grade 5 teacher at Naggo's Head Primary for planting that thought of doing things to show maturity and helping out around the house. The same day that Mr. Jarrett gave the class that lesson on maturity, speech on responsibility I went home and was able to make my mom proud. Even its in a small way I made her proud. Yup. Mr. Jarrett inspired me to wash dishes and now even 14yrs later washing dishes can still inspire me towards greater.
