Based on the rate of return you know I was doing something wrong. Some people may tell you that Amway is not about sales but my figures tell a different story. YOU HAVE TO SELL PRODUCTS TO MAKE A PROFIT. I knew it from the start but its hard to sell good/ high quality products in Jamaica. And then just went through a process, of which I expected the results above to prove it to myself. And now to you interested readers. The next thing with being an IBO in JA is the import duties and cost for shipping. I can just say that alone is a hindrance to many IBO's wanting to continue business with Amway. In fact its a major contributing factor to Amway IBO failure rate in Jamaica.

I had a few persons recruited to my team but they weren't motivated enough to continue. So if you are not going to make sales you must be getting recruits who will actively motivate to stay active. Why? Because self motivated persons who are willing to earn outside the 'status quo' are very few. Hence, YOU NEED RECRUITS and a TRAINING SYSTEM. In other words, you need that winning formula to give the 'Average Joe' a fighting chance or a light of hope instead of letting the circumstance put out the lights of his new business.

So if you are going to use Amway's products, payment plan and marketing structure, purchasing for your consumption only while taking advantage of the FSP will not be profitable. But there is still a way to do it on your own and increase your percentage of expenses returned to approximately 30% and more. I know its not much but with this philosophy you can teach your down-lines the same technique and with even one down-line you will be profitable. This philosophy I call 'Amway Manipultion -AM1.0'. I didn't get the mix of retail purchases and IBO purchases right. So AM1.0 involves the right blend of purchasing products through your IBO account and a retailer account (linked to your IBO account down-line). You must also get the required PV/BV level for FSP qualification. The final knowledge is the type of products you buy through the retail account vs the IBO. That is 1 way to manipulate the system rules and payment plan of Amway. OH hint!- some Amway products fetch higher retail difference than others.

I must state in closing that when I started with the Amway MLM business profits were zero. I actually operated at a loss because I focused on my consumption alone and only sold a few of the products. Its a loss, taking into consideration only the money I spent and I received as commission. Therefore I did not take account for the value of the products I had and consumed.

In fact I sold to friends, families and supporters who felt sorry for this young man who got tricked into one more of those MLM scam things. I encourage IBO's not to just follow everything their uplines tell them to do but put their mark of individuality on the business after you have learnt the necessaries. To tell you the truth, many of the up-lines are out of whack with modern internet marketing trends and skills. They will even try to hold you back from your full unique potential.
